Every church needs to have a purpose statement that answers the question – why do we exist? It provides a clear guide for us to live by. We filter every program, budget request and idea through our purpose statement and if a suggested program doesn’t effectively help to serve our stated purpose, then we don’t do it. At GraceLife, we are a community of faith – growing together in our love for God, in our love for one another, and in service to the people in our own backyard.
At Grace Life, we exist to
Reach Up Reach In and Reach Out
We reach up by loving God. When we worship God, we express our love to Him. The only way we can express true love to God and worship Him is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We call that person a Christ-follower. At GraceLife, we believe that as Christ-followers, we should worship God with our lives, both individually and collectively as a community of faith.
We also reach in, helping believers grow in their spiritual maturity and become fully developed followers of Christ. We call this process discipleship. Since the Christian life is one of constant growth and development, we are focused on providing biblical principles that can be applied to every day life. Because God’s love motivates and frees us, people can develop and thrive in an atmosphere of grace and encouragement.
Another key purpose of ours is to reach out to people who do not attend a local church. We do this by investing a portion of our time, effort, and resources in the surrounding community. We encourage GraceLife people to connect with their friends, family, neighbors and co-workers so that they will see, hear, understand, and experience what it means to be a Christ-follower.
At GraceLife, our mission is to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ by receiving and reflecting God’s amazing grace.
